FOR DAY
On Your Day Off
Trend:Nude and Earthy Tones (browns, greens, colors in nature) are very hot this season, and with a metallic gold and bronze finish, you'll be smoking.
When you want a hint of color so your natural beauty shines through, we liked Bobbi Brown's Nude Collection. Why? The colors work on a range of skin tones and can be easily added upon. The must have item is the Nude Eye Palette($60), which has 3 sets of eyeshadow duos (6 in total) with various earthy tones. Best part of all, the 3 finishings to them-soft matte to light pearl to a highly metallic finish, make it very easy to go from the office to the club. For an overall nude look there is also a matching Nude Shimmer Brick ($38.00) which has 5 pure pearl pigments that can be used over blush as a highlighter, or alone to give a natural looking glow to your skin. For lips, there are 4 new nude shades to the Creamy Lip Color ($22), so you'll be sure to find a nude that's right for you.
If you like nude, but are a bit of a diva, then go for the trumped up nudes and earth tones in Smashbox's Reign 2009 Collection. Inspired by the Tudors (man, I love that show), the colors are like the whole Tudor scene-sexy, indulgent, provocative and intense, with a dramatic finish.
For the Office
Trend:Purples and Blues are hot colors this season, and this season is all about emphasizing the eyes.
When you're at the office, a bit of color (but not too much), is always good. With purple and blue being our colors of choice, we loved NARS Lolita Collection and Lancome's Indigo Collection.
NARS Lolita collection is all about smouldering yet understated coloring on the eyes paired with dramatic purple lips. The must have item is definitely the Fast Ride Lipstick ($24). A sheer mulberry, and a great lip color option. For eyes, the colors are more understated the Duo Eyeshadows ($32.00) have 3 new palettes that compliment your dramatic lips Silk Road (icy pink/rose gold), Indian Summer (frosted champagne/mustard seed) and Brumes(matte charcoal/blue slate).
Lancome's Declaring Indigo Collection, is more about dramatic blue colored eyes paired with more understated red/berry colored lips. The must have item is the Color Design Liberty Palette in Indigo Charm ($42US/$46CDN). This gorgeous palette has 2 intense shades of blue, paired with complimenting mustard and golden yellows to give your eyes a lift. Paired with their new berry inspired shades of Color Design Lipcolor ($22US/$24CDN) and Color Fever Gloss ($25US/$29CDN) and you'll get that promotion. One item we have to mention because we just loved it so much, is the new shade of the Le Vernis Nail Polish ($18US/$22CDN). It's called Indigo Paris, it's a gorgeous sparkling blue and it's just the perfect color.

FOR NIGHT
Evening Glamour
Our favorite collection for evening glamour has to be Yves St Laurent Fall Collection. The look consists of a gorgeous bluish grey smoky eye paired with deep brown/plum lips. The must have item is the Ombres 5 Lumieres ($56US/$72CDN). This gorgeous 5 color eyeshadow palette comes in Minuit (grey/dusty pink/black/eggshell blue/chocolate) and Or Bronze (bronze/pastel yellow/chocolate/white/moss green) to give you the perfect shades to blend a sultry smoky eye. If that's too much choice, try the 2 new eyeshadow duo's, Ombres Duolumieres ($41US/$52CDN) in Vert Anis-Prune Intense (anise green/deep plum) and Peche Nacree-Brun Vison (peach and brown mink). With only 2 shades to blend, it makes sultry eyes easy to achieve. For lips, the Rouge Volupte ($34US/$38CDN) in No 22 (Exquisite Plum) is perfect to compliment your eyes and finished off your smouldering look.
Night On The Town
MAC Style Black and Urban Decay Fall 2009 Collection were our collections of choice. We loved the Style Black because it justs screams of Rocker Chic and give the perfect dark punch to your evening makeup. The standout products were the Black Knight Cremesheen Lipstick ($14US/$16.50CDN) and the new shades of the Mineralize Eyeshadow ($19.50/$23.50CDN). The Black Knight Lipstick is the perfect truly black lipstick that will give your makeup all the drama it needs. Wear it with a light dusting of mascara and some light foundation and you're ready for a night on the town. If lips aren't your thing, then dramatize those eyes with the new shades of Mineralize Eyeshadow. These ingenious shades contain black and frosted shades of silver (Cinderfella), gold bronze (Gilt By Association), blue (Blue Flame) and pink/purple (Young Punk). Depending on your needs your can darken and lighten your eye color as you need. If you're looking for a deep color but other than black then check out Urban Decay's Fall 2009 Collection. The new Ink For Eyes ($22) provide intense color with super smooth precision. We loved the Binge (Midnight Blue) and Empire (Eggplant), which stays put all day. For lips, the new shades of Lipstick ($22) in Confession (deep, semi sheer Burgundy) and Oil Slick (glossy black with silver microsparkle) are smashing.. If nude is more your look then go for Naked (pink-nude) and you'll be set.
With dramatic colors like these, please remember the cardinal rule, if you go heavy on the eyes, tone down the lips and vice versa, remember it's a night on the town, not a night at the circus!!!!
