| How To Look Paris Chic This Summer
Since we have a lot of Parisian contributors this issue, we wanted to have a Parisian themed issue. After being lucky enough to spend some time in this beautiful and historic city, we've gathered some fantastic Paris street trends, that we'd like to share with you, to have you looking that European chic that we all love.
1) Black, Black and ok, some White
This right here is why I love Paris!! Even though it's summer, there was still alot of black being worn on the streets. Why? It's flattering, it's basic, and will be a wardrobe staple for years. The French tend to layer and mix black with other basic colors-namely white or red, so it's simple yet adds the perfect pop of color so you're not black from head to toe.
2) Leggings in all lengths
This trend seems to be still strong, despite being around for a season or two. Whether it's a full length legging with an oversize shirt and short jacket, or a 3/4 legging with that perfect short little dress, leggings are still going strong and should be a part of your wardrobe. I personally like the leggings you can get in American Apparel, they are relatively cheap and they come with all kinds of details. You can also do those skinny pants the same way!
3) The Perfect Summer Dress
What can we say, this is a summer trend that will never go away! Best part is, there's no limits this season. Whether it's a long flowing dress with the perfect flat sandal or that short baby doll dress with summer boots, just make sure 1)the dress is flattering and fits you well 2)you've got the proper pair of shoes with it. Flats, sandals and pumps all look good depending on the length. For the perfect pick of summer dress, check out Bloomingdales, there are just too many styles and price ranges to chose, so go nuts. If you want a cheaper alternative and where most New Yorker's go, check out Century 21 downtown!
4) The Return of the Summer Short
This season, the short has made a triumphant return. Why? Because it's not too short! Mid-thigh or lower shorts were back. This was usually paired with a thin and airy strong shoulder blouse and flats. I love some of the light blouses you can get at Urban Outfitters, I particularly like LnA Striped Mesh Side Sail Tank ($84)and Tre Rouched Shoulder Top ($58). The key with this look is If your wearing shorts, you have to pair it with a more interesting top- whether it's strong shouldered, lace trimmed or just an pattern or texture, it's what makes this look work. We also saw alot of shorts with a simple tshirt and long blazer jacket over it-very fashionable!
There you have it, simple, but easy to find and very fashionable!
