Fall!! It's only August, but hey ladies, we at MUSK want you to be ahead of the game and hit the ground running. Believe it or not, some major companies have already started to release their fall makeup lines, so we thought we'd give you a head's up on what to expect to see during those autumn months. Fall can be pretty much summed up in one word: NATURAL.
SKIN:
Unlike that super shiny, bronzed glowing skin that was chic for summer, fall is all about muted, more sombre matte skin. Maybe it's the cooler weather, the back to school, or the kicking into high gear at work, matte is the way to go.
Out: Shiny or Bronzed Skin
In: Matted more muted skin
EYES:
Gone are those bright vibrant summer colors, this fall is all about more neutral, earthy tones (very different from fall seasons of past!!), and very reflective of clothing trends for Fall 2008. Earthy does mean browns, but it also can mean more natural shades of greens and greys. Infact, smokey eyes are still in (for evening), but it's in grey tones this season. Eyeliner is very fine lines in shades of greys and browns-not blacks or blues.
Out: Reds, Yellows, Oranges, and Bright Blues
In: Neutral Earthy tones of Browns, Reds, Greens and Grey of any color
CHEEKS:
Fall is all about some color to your cheeks, but nothing to dramatic. So just like your eyes, lighter more natural tones are the look for this season. Blush this season is used to contour the face, not pronounce it! A common color seen in the newest fall collections are dusty, natural pinks.
Out: Bright flashy color to pronounce cheeks
In: Neutral skin tones to contour face
LIPS:
Last fall and winter, deep pronounced rich burgundy, browns and reds were all the rage. This year, reds and browns are still present, but they are a little more natural in tone. In fact, the more natural the shade the better, so if you have the lips to pull it off, clear lipstick will be your friend this season, if not, go for shades that are close to your natural lip color.
Out:Deep rich reds, browns, burgundys
In: More natural lip colors-muted reds, pinks, even clear lipstick
